A sourcing device provides PoE via a Cat5 cable, and at the other end, a 100-POE-SPL splits the power and Ethernet in order to power a legacy non-PoE device. This solution is well-suited for situations in which it is difficult to run power, or for a temporary installation. The splitter features a 2 million hour MTBF design, operating temperature range of -40ºC to 85ºC, redundant power inputs, shock resistance, ESD protection, and RFI immunity. It is capable of providing 15.4 watts of power, the maximum allowable under the IEEE 802.3af specification.
